"When I went to Alaska this year, I didn't know what to expect. All we knew was that it was going to be very different from the previous year and that we were going to be working in mobile home parks in Anchorage. I was discouraged for a bit because I felt disconnected from every kid at my park. Until I met this girl. Her name is Bertha. She is literally a ray of sunshine and has such a beautiful soul. I never thought I would have so much in common with a 14 year old 😊 All God wanted me to do was to be patient, and I'm glad I was!" // Kaylie Ward, 18

"I went into this summer a little saddened at the fact that I was not going to be able to go on a mission trip. I went to Albania last year and absolutely fell in love with, not only the beauty of the country, but also with the people. I wasn't going to be able to go back because I was anticipating getting a new job and the dates just did not line up. I prayed over and over that if God wanted me on this trip that He would provide a way. A week before the trip I found that I did not get the job, and that meant I was going to be able to go back to Albania. I managed to raise the money I needed in that short amount of time before the trip and next thing I knew, I was back on a plane going to the country I had fallen in love with. Some one asked what success looks like for me on trips like these and, after thinking about it, I came to this: of course the purpose of these trips are to go out and spread The Gospel with hopes that someone would choose to have a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, but for me it's also about building relationships. The day before we left to come home, we were able to hang out with some of the students that were at camp last year. In hanging out with them, we learned that over the last year, 6 students from last years camp made the decision to accept Christ. It took building those relationships and continuing to communicate via social media and answering the questions they had when they came up." // Marvin Alford, 24
